Smith's talk will highlight Viking culture and traditional ship construction, from harvesting trees to the launch of the Valkyrie.
 
The Valkyrie was created as a promise between David Knudsen to his dying father Heinrich. Valkyrie was launched in the spring of 2024 and now sails the Salish Sea in Washington State.

Jay Smith has spent a number of years on this project and others. Smith even helped build the small boat Inga used by the crew of the Hjemkomst!
