Join us for a unique immersive experience where you’ll build your own 20-inch medicine drum, learn traditional drumming techniques, and experience the profound practice of shamanic drum journeying.
This intimate workshop is designed for anyone who feels called to reconnect with rhythm, nature, creativity, and inner wisdom. No previous experience is necessary.
Your Experience Includes
Build Your Own Medicine Drum
Under the guidance of Ali Hurtado, you’ll handcraft your own traditional medicine drum from start to finish.
Your workshop includes:
   20” wooden drum frame
   27” goat hide
   Rawhide lacing
   Drum beater materials
   All tools and supplies
Together you’ll move through each step of the sacred drum-making process:
• Gratitude prayer and intention setting
•Smudging and blessing the materials
• Preparing the hide and lacing
• Building and stretching the drum
• Creating the center handle
• Crafting your own beater
• Learning how to properly care for your drum
Each participant receives individual guidance throughout the process.

Medicine Drum Instruction
Once your drum is complete, Michael Drum will guide you in learning how to confidently play your medicine drum.
You’ll discover:
   Traditional drumming techniques
   Proper body posture and hand placement
   How to tune and care for your drum
   How rhythm supports meditation and healing
   How to confidently bring medicine drumming into your own practice or community
