- **Event Description**: I’m really excited to introduce something new we’re starting at EmpowerEd that I wish existed for parents years ago.

So many families are navigating things like IEPs, learning differences, anxiety, school struggles, behavior challenges, and advocacy, but there aren’t many spaces where parents can actually sit down and talk through these things with someone who understands both the school system and what families are experiencing at home.

That’s exactly why I created EmpowerEd Power Hour.

This is a 90-minute parent strategy and support session where families can ask questions, share challenges, and learn practical strategies that can help both at home and in school.

What makes this different from a typical workshop is that the topics are actually shaped by the parents who attend. When you register, you can share the questions or challenges you’re navigating, and those submissions help guide the conversation so the session focuses on real situations families are facing.

It’s intentionally small (limited to 15 parents) so it stays supportive and conversational rather than feeling like a lecture.

As a special education teacher and educational advocate, I spend a lot of time working with families who feel overwhelmed trying to figure out how to support their child. My hope is that this becomes a space where parents can get guidance, feel supported, and connect with other families who truly understand the journey.
