- **Event Description**: Lace up those sneakers and join us for the 2nd Annual Reservoir Rush 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 16, 2026 hosted by the East Haddam/Moodus VFW Post 3336.   It is a mostly-level course that travels through winding country roads, around the scenic lower Moodus Reservoir, and begins and ends at the East Haddam Town Beach (291 EH-Colchester Tpke, Moodus, 06469).  

Check-in starts at 7:30am, the race starts at 9am, and the kid's fun-run starts at 8:30am.  Registration is $40, onsite registration is $50.  Fun-run registration is $10 (children 10 yrs and younger).  Register by May 1st to receive a shirt, registration after this date your t-shirt size selection will be first-come, first-served.  A small processing fee will apply.

Showcase your patriotism by wearing your best red, white and blue!  Proceeds from this event will benefit VFW Post 3336 as well as the House of Heroes of Connecticut,  a non-profit organization that helps our veterans (and their spouses) who are disabled, living on a fixed income, or facing other physical/financial challenges (https://www.hohct.org/) and the Forever In My Heart Foundation Vets Valor Program, which provides service dogs to veterans with service-connected psychiatric/physical disabilities (https://foreverinmyheartfoundation.org/).
