Botanical Watercolour Workshop using Natural plant pigments - All skill levels (Adults 18+)

Discover the beauty of plant-based watercolour in this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop. Explore natural pigments made from colour-rich plants such as cosmos flowers, madder root, and indigo, and learn how to bring your botanical paintings to life with soft, organic tones.

We’ll experiment with a range of materials to create unique effects — salt, dip pens, sticks, beeswax crayons, and natural walnut ink — while exploring techniques for texture, mark-making, and capturing whimsical details in your work. You’ll use Lutea natural plant paints, known for their depth and gentle transparency, to create your own one-of-a-kind artwork inspired by nature.

What you’ll learn:
• Watercolour techniques for beginners (plus a few advanced tips)
• How to capture a whimsical, natural feel in your paintings
• Combining other materials with watercolour for special effects
• Creating expressive textures using salt and dip pens

All materials are provided. Bring lunch or enjoy one of Montville’s lovely cafés during the break.
