The lecture will focus on public health challenges across Asia, Africa, and the United States, which share common themes — managing infectious diseases while addressing rising non-communicable diseases like diabetes and heart disease.  

“If public health is not prioritized, there will be more burden on hospitals,” Dr. Ahmed said in an interview with Rocky Mountain PBS. “If you give information to people, it is easy to save lives.” 

Dr. Ahmed brings more than 24 years of global leadership experience, serving in Africa and South Asia. His work has impacted millions, particularly vulnerable populations, through innovative, low-resource strategies and strong local partnerships.
