- **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 14 Oct, 2026 at 06:30 pm – Wed, 14 Oct, 2026 at 08:30 pm (-04:00)
- **Event Description**: Kids live in the realm of the imagination until society trains them out of it. As adults, we have imagination and creativity – and it often needs a bit of a tune up! This is a workshop for adults-who-love-kids to expand their imaginations, and, by doing so, their ability to be with children. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, teacher, or an aspiring funcle (fun-uncle), this is for you!

If you want to reactivate your own imagination to improve your life, continue to support children’s thriving, and improve your relationships with children, join us for an evening of games, creative prompts, music, storytelling, improvisation, and Q&A. This will be a participatory, fun, engaging, illuminating event where we’ll creatively connect as adults to be able to really get on the level of young ones!

This is a donation-based event with a suggested donation of $35. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Registration is required - click 'Tickets' to reserve your spot.

Bring a pen and paper. There are signs for guest parking, if all spots are full please DO NOT park in the back of the property, as this is a residential area. Instead, park just down the street at 1141 Montreat Rd.

Childcare will be available for those who are bringing kids with them.

Matthew is a multimedia artist creating “It’s OK to Become a Human,” a project sharing stories, inspiration, and practical relational/emotional skills. His work focuses on the very personal steps/missteps he took to excavate his true self, after western culture and his upbringing tried to repress him into an unfeeling, cookie-cutter drone. The primary media of this project are writing, videos, workshops, and speaking. Matthew supports adults in pursuing their path of purpose and authenticity through UnCareer Coaching. He has been a facilitator of children’s social-emotional-expressive learning at ZigZag ALC for 4 years. Perhaps most importantly, he is a reliable and caring friend, lover, and funcle. Matthew has past lives as a good boy, earthskills teacher, bark hut dweller, government worker, and PhD scientist.
