Kevin Lehoux for 2018-19 ASA VP Finance
In general, I consider myself a very organized and honest person. There are rarely things left behind or ambiguous with me, something which will transpire in my work as vice-president finance. I also have a great sense of responsibility and I am not scared of accountability.
Having planned this year’s ASA Frosh, I am already familiar with the monetary side of events within our school, something which will help me be more aware of needs and allocation of funds.
Being someone that has juggled with a part-time job and school since grade 10, and having to pay for my schooling and all related expenses, I am more than aware of the importance of budgeting and of proper planning.
What's the plan?
Ensure proper communication with all members of the council and the E.U.S with special attention paid to:
- VP Admins and U1 Supply Kits, fundraisers
- VP Interns and Frosh, Banquet events
- VP External and the Colloquium.
Ensuring that students get the most bang for their buck, through effective planning strategies and preparedness, and beginning to plan events and fundraisers weeks in advance.
Physical and digital statements that are available at all times to all members of the A.S.A council in addition to the required monthly statements.
Retaining margins of error and emergency funds to account for any unexpected expenses and to ensure there is no deficit at the end of the year.
Ensuring that documents are in order and available as soon as possible under request with full transparency.
An open ear for students to submit their concerns and suggestions as to the management of ASA funds, as pertains to fundraisers, activities and such. I am here to work with you and for you; therefore it is important that the student’s voices are heard.
Respecting and continuing to build upon the model set by Alexia, ensuring that this is the blueprint for how VP Finance works in the future.
