On this flower moon we gather to protest the implicit and explicit control of our bodies through dance and explore how improvisation opens us up to the inner stranger, the divine clownish guides.

We are dancing on the soil our Indigenous brothers and sisters have tilled, have bled and laughed in since time immemorial. As our feet kick stones we communicate with the memories and stories of the Kanien’keha:ka Nation (People of the Flint) Keepers of the Eastern Door, and all the Indigenous Peoples who have traveled here from far and wide. 

Indigenous artists at risk of or experiencing homelessness are co-organizing and hosting this festival. It doubles as an inauguration of the Tlachiuak theatre space - a much needed cultural centre for Inuit, Métis, First Nations and ally/accomplice artists.

En cette pleine lune des fleurs, nous nous rassemblons pour protester, par la danse, contre le contrôle implicite et explicite de nos corps et explorer comment l'improvisation nous ouvre à l'étranger intérieur, aux guides divins et clownesques.

Nous dansons sur la terre que nos frères et sœurs autochtones ont cultivée, où ils ont versé leur sang et ri depuis la nuit des temps. Nos pieds frappent les pierres, et nous communiquons avec les souvenirs et les récits de la Nation Kanien’keha:ka (Peuple du Silex), Gardiens de la Porte de l’Est, et de tous les peuples autochtones venus de loin.

Des artistes autochtones en situation d’itinérance ou à risque coorganisent et animent ce festival. Il marque également l’inauguration de l’espace théâtral Tlachiuak, un centre culturel essentiel pour les artistes inuits, métis, des Premières Nations et leurs alliés.
