Vancouver, 1990. Sasha, huit ans, benjamine d’une famille d’origine hongroise, s’amuse avec ses deux jeunes frères sous un soleil estival de plomb. Puis, il y a son demi-frère aîné, Jeremy, dont la chevelure dorée et les yeux clairs détonnent avec le reste du clan ; Jeremy dont le comportement imprévisible passe d’une candeur enchanteresse à des absences inquiétantes, puis à une colère intenable… Plus tard, devenue cinéaste, Sasha tente de comprendre et de reconstituer l’imaginaire de sa famille blessée par cet été changeant. 

Dans la lignée de Charlotte Wells (Aftersun, Louve d’or au FNC 2022), Sophy Romvari propose une réflexion sensorielle sur la santé mentale, les souvenirs et les images de la mémoire. Un premier long métrage d’une délicatesse extrême et d’une grande beauté. (FNC)
