Her first book, A Thousand Paper Cuts: US Empire and the Bureaucratic Life of War, was published by Duke University Press in 2025.Esmat Elhalaby is an Assistant Professor of Transnational History at the University of Toronto. His first book, Parting Gifts of Empire: Palestine and India at the Dawn of Decolonization was published by the University of California Press in 2025. He works primarily on the history of colonial and anti-colonial ideas from the nineteenth century to the present.In collaboration with Dark Opacities Lab, Concordia University
