Cet atelier d’introduction enseignera aux participants les bases de la teinture naturelle, notamment à l’aide de racines de garance et d’extrait de grenade. Nous explorerons les différentes étapes : le mordançage, qui prépare la laine avec l’alun, l’extraction de la teinture et la teinture des écheveaux. Nous explorerons aussi brièvement quelques bases théoriques et les applications variées des teintures naturelles. Cet atelier abordera également l’utilisation d’autres colorants naturels et la palette complexe qu’ils peuvent nous offrir. Tous les matériaux seront fournis pour cet atelier d’une journée et vous rentrerez chez vous avec deux écheveaux de votre propre fil teint naturellement.Ceci est atelier d’introduction. This workshop will introduce participants to the basics of natural dyeing, using madder roots and pomegranate extract to dye their yarns. We will explore the mordanting steps / pre-treatment of the yarn with alum, the dye extraction, and dyeing of the skeins, as well as touch upon some of the theory and varied applications of natural dyes. This workshop will also touch upon other natural dyes and the intricate palette they can offer us. All materials will be supplied for this one-day workshop, and you will go home with two skeins of your own naturally dyed yarn.This is an introductory level workshop.
