Grief & Growth Through Art: A 3-Week Journey for Tweens
A creative space to heal, connect, and express.
This 3-week small group is designed to support tweens (ages 9–14) who have experienced the loss of a parent or guardian. Together, we’ll create a compassionate, heart-centered space where they can explore grief gently through art, mindfulness, and journaling; surrounded by others who understand.
Each week, guided by Dianne Furphy, MS – Life & Mindfulness Coach | Art & Emotional Awareness Coach | Master’s in Art Therapy: participants will engage in hands-on creative activities and reflections that help them process emotions safely; without needing to find the right words.
Through these sessions, tweens will:
🎨 Learn healthy ways to express emotions like sadness, anger, and confusion.
💭 Understand that their feelings are normal and part of the healing process.
🌈 Discover tools for comfort, calm, and connection they can use at home.
💜 Feel seen, supported, and less alone in their grief journey.
Each participant will also receive a personal grief & growth journal, filled with gentle prompts and mindfulness tools they can continue to use for emotional release and self-care beyond the group.
WHEN: Saturdays, January 10th, 17th, 24th
TIME: 1:00PM-2:15PM
