The French Connection

The final installment of John Martello's Classic Film Class for 2025.

This year, we lost one of our finest American actors, Gene Hackman. What better way to salute his career by showcasing one of his most iconic characters, Popeye Doyle. This movie is based on a true story about two NYC detectives who try to break a narcotics smuggling ring and trace the source back to a Frenchman but not before Popeye endures one of the most famous car chases in movie history and shot on the streets of New York.
