The proposed amendment states that any material that promotes, encourages, or positively depicts transgender procedures, gender ideology, or the concept off more than two biological genders shall be considered inappropriate for children and youth.
We believe parents should independently make the decision of who and what their children read. Not the government.
The Alabama Public Library Service (APLS) is proposing rule changes to the state's Administrative Code. The proposed changes will update State Aid policy requirements for Alabama public libraries. You may view the agency's proposed Administrative Code changes here.

A public hearing will be held at APLS on October 21, 2025 at 10 a.m. CST at the above address. Requests to make oral comments should be sent to
