Discover the incredible ways animals experience the world through their senses! Explore how livestock, pollinators, and other farm animals use sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste to find food, stay safe, and interact with their environment. Through fun, hands-on activities and exploration at Nippert Barn, families will learn how understanding animal senses helps farmers provide thoughtful, compassionate care.

Family Discovery Time is a child-focused educational program on a selected topic for children and their families. Literacy and hands-on experiences will be combined to cultivate curiosity and discovery on the farm. Please dress to be out on the farm in our pastures, gardens, and natural areas. We may encounter mud and evidence of our livestock.

Please note, the activities are targeted for children ages 5 and up. Younger siblings should be able to enjoy the experience with more adult help.
