Join the Capri, the longest-continually-operated movie theatre in Alabama, as it becomes even longer-continuing. 

Saturday, July 18, from 11-1, join us on the grass behind the theatre for food trucks (Funky Forte, Slicey Boys, and Kona Ice), community partners (so many - including some of your faves), music, games, and more. We'll also have raffles with some mouth-watering prizes (if we say so ourselves).

At 10 AM, 11 AM, and 12 PM, our former director of 42 years, Martin McCaffery, will lead tours of the theatre and give insights into the Capri and theatres in general, past and present. Each ticket comes with a swag bag of Capri merch. Tickets for these are going fast, so get yours ASAP.

At 1 PM, film director Josh Carples presents his documentary about the Capri, Clover/Capri. Filmed with Martin McCaffery in 2020, you can learn about our little theatre and some of the challenges we've overcome in the past 85 years. Tickets are $8.50.

At 3 PM, we're back in the theatre with popular film historian John Martello for The Philadelphia Story. Not only is it a classic film that's as old as we are, but it was the first film the Capri Community Film Society - the nonprofit that formed to save the Capri - sold tickets to. It is, in effect, the film that got the Capri as we currently know it started! Tickets are $8.50.

At 7 PM, we have a free, members-only screening of Clover/Capri. This time, Josh Carples is joined - in person - by Martin McCaffery himself. And if you're in attendance, you'll get to see Martin be presented with his very own lifetime membership card.
