The Alabama State University Department of Theatre & Dance, BFA Dance Program, proudly presents the premiere of The Nutcracker Black & Gold Magic. This reimagined holiday classic transforms the timeless story with fresh choreography, vibrant storytelling, and a unique ASU flair that highlights the rich cultural and artistic traditions of Montgomery.

This year’s production is especially exciting as it features special guest student performers from the Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) magnet dance programs, joining ASU’s BFA Dance majors in bringing this magical holiday tale to life.

Audiences will experience a spectacular blend of tradition and innovation as the performance incorporates Duke Ellington’s legendary Nutcracker Suite along with additional musical selections that infuse jazz, classical, and contemporary sounds into this holiday favorite.
