2026 Rotunda Singing

Come experience the power and beauty of four-part, a cappella shape-note singing—a vibrant Alabama musical tradition. Not a singer? No problem! All are welcome to attend and participate.

When: Saturday January 31, 2026, 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Where: Main Lobby, Alabama Department of Archives and History

What: Join us in singing from four oblong shape-note hymnals in use in Alabama: The Sacred Harp (2025 Edition); The Sacred Harp (Cooper revision); The Christian Harmony; and The Colored Sacred Harp.

Barbecue lunch available for a requested $10 donation.
