Kagami Biraki, or "Mirror Opening" is a traditional Japanese celebration that is held in many traditional martial arts dojo. It is an old tradition dating back to the 15th century. For martial arts students today, the Kagami Biraki celebration continues the old tradition of kicking off the new year and for students' to rededicate their spirit, effort and discipline towards martial arts training.
Please join Southland Aikido's annual Kagami Biraki practice and celebration on January 13, 2019. Practice begins at 10:45 am with activities slated after practice.
All dojo members are highly encouraged to attend; open to non-members (mat fee applies).
