La poesia di Wisława Szymborska riflette la distanza tra la ragazza adolescente e lei adulta: lo scarto, il senso di estraneità e lontananza, ma anche di appartenenza.
Un tema assolutamente lontano dal mondo convenzionale dell’arte, scomodo, ma di grande interesse e coinvolgimento per un pubblico di tutte le generazioni, abituato o meno a frequentare eventi artistici. 
Il progetto adolescĕre prende ispirazione da questo periodo di grande cambiamento nella vita di ogni persona. Le artiste del Women Visual Artists Database di tutto il mondo sono state invitate a riflettere su questa particolare esperienza partendo dal loro vissuto, ma anche attingendo ad altre adolescenze – di figli, fratelli, amici.

Wisława Szymborska's poetry reflects the distance between the adolescent girl and her adult self: the gap, the sense of estrangement and remoteness, but also of belonging.
A theme completely removed from the conventional world of art, uncomfortable, but of great interest and engagement for an audience of all generations, accustomed or not to attending artistic events.
The adolescĕre project takes inspiration from this period of great change in everyone's life. Artists from around the world in the Women Visual Artists Database were invited to reflect on this particular experience, starting from their own experiences, but also drawing on other adolescences – those of children, siblings, friends.
