Get ready to shake off the winter and launch your paddling season with our Spring Thaw sea kayaking event — built for paddlers who are ready to sharpen their skills, paddle together, and celebrate the first bold strokes of spring.
Pricing below includes event fees, all food, accommodations and access to resort amenities (Saunas, trails and more!). The pricing for Yurts, Eagles Nest loft and prospector tent are for double occupancy.
Who This Is For:
This event is tailored for paddlers holding Paddle Canada Level-1 or Level-2 Skills certification, or those with equivalent experience. Whether you’re building on foundational skills or refining strokes, you’ll find expert-led sessions that challenge, educate, and inspire. We will welcome more experienced paddlers and ensure we challenge you as well!
What You’ll Do:
This event is about gathering with the paddling community. Session opportunities will include:
* Rescue & Safety Training – Practice self- and assisted re-entries, towing, and group rescue techniques in a safe, supportive environment.
* Stroke & Maneuver Development – Improve efficiency and boat control with refined stroke mechanics, edging, bracing, and turning techniques.
* Rough-Water Play - Challenge yourself in dynamic conditions with coached sessions focused on surf, wind, current and waves.
* Group Navigation & Planning - Explore local coastal routes while practicing weather interpretation, sea-state reading, and decision-making.

The Spring Thaw takes place at Nature Space Resort, offering the perfect backdrop for early-season paddling. After a day on the water, unwind in one of our multiple saunas, soak in a private hot tub, and enjoy the quiet beauty of our coastal surroundings. With multiple accommodation types and trails it’s the ideal setting to relax, reset, and connect with other paddlers as the season begins. We will also gather together for meals served in the community Bee Hive Building!
Accomodations:
We have multiple accommodation options. Most of them are designed for 2 guests. We encourage you to find a friend or join with a partner. For some accommodations you will need to book with two. If you are looking to come solo, there are a few campsites available.
