Louis-Jean Cormier se fait connaître à la fin des années 1990 au sein du groupe Karkwa, dont l’aventure marque un tournant avec l’album Les chemins de verre en 2011. Il lance sa carrière solo en 2012 avec Le Treizième Étage, puis connaît un succès croissant grâce à Les grandes artères et au succès du simple « Si tu reviens », tout en gagnant en visibilité comme coach à La Voix. Parallèlement, il réalise des albums pour plusieurs artistes, dont Lisa LeBlanc, Philippe Brach et Marie-Pierre Arthur. Marqué par le décès de son père, il propose en 2020 Quand la nuit tombe, suivi de Le ciel est au plancher en 2021. En 2023, il retrouve Karkwa pour l’album Dans la seconde. En 2025, il entreprend une tournée solo qui lui fera parcourir les 4 coins du Québec.

Louis-Jean Cormier first rose to prominence in the late 1990s as a member of Karkwa, whose journey reached a major milestone with the album Les chemins de verre in 2011. He launched his solo career in 2012 with Le Treizième Étage, and gained further success with Les grandes artères, propelled by the hit single “Si tu reviens,” while also increasing his public profile as a coach on La Voix. Alongside his own projects, he has worked as a producer for several artists, including Lisa LeBlanc, Philippe Brach, and Marie-Pierre Arthur. Following his father’s death, he released Quand la nuit tombe in 2020, followed by Le ciel est au plancher in 2021. In 2023, he reunited with Karkwa for the album Dans la seconde. In 2025, he embarked on a solo tour that will take him to all four corners of Quebec.
