The Booker Properties in Monson, Massachusetts are owned by the Town of Monson with a conservation restriction held by Opacum Land Trust. This 130-acre collection of 3 properties is open to walking, hiking, mountain biking, nature viewing, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing, hunting and fishing. 

The Booker C Parcel is a recent acquisition for the land trust and is in need of historic trash and invasive species removal to help open it up for wildlife passage and recreation. 

Volunteers should expect to help with removing a small tire dump and removing invasive species by hand. Sturdy gloves, long sleeve and pants are recommended. If you have loppers, clippers, or a W**d wrench, they would be helpful but not necessary. 

No prior habitat management skills are required, this is a great opportunity to learn about invasive species and how to manage them in forested ecosystems. Parking will be located at the Booker A Parking kiosk along Hovey Road.
