You will learn how to draw your design on a 6” ceramic tile, then paint the outline using a resist medium which creates a barrier for the glazes. After the outline is completed, you will then glaze the tile using small bottle applicators and flooding the areas inside the line work. The idea behind this intriguing technique is to raise the glaze application creating a nice smooth texture after it’s fired. Students will choose their own color palette to paint. Supplies: Students should bring $10 cash to class for a materials fee to give directly to Ana. Materials fee includes the 6” bisque tile, plus all materials you will use during the workshop: glazes, liner brushes, bottle applicators, resist medium and other minor supplies used for cleanup. The tile frame is not included. note: The tile can be used as a trivet or as a wall art. Ana can provide the link where she purchases the tile frame.
