Clay:
Clay may be purchased online or in person at the upstairs sales desk during regular gallery hours. All clay must be purchased from MWCA (no outside clay allowed). Please bring your receipt to class to receive your clay. Scroll to the SUPPLIES section to view.

Step into the world of pottery—no wheel required.

This 8-week course is all about transforming simple slabs of clay into beautiful, functional, and sculptural pieces. From elegant dishes to organic bowls and beyond, you’ll learn how to shape, build, and bring your ideas to life with your own hands.

We’ll cover the essentials—wedging, rolling, and constructing—but the real magic is in what you create. This is a relaxed, encouraging class where creativity grows quickly and no two pieces are ever the same.

By the end, you’ll have completed projects like trinket dishes and a flowing wave bowl - and more! —and the skills (and confidence!) to keep creating.

Optional Bonus Studio Time
After completing the fourth week of class, students may practice independently for up to two hours each week during designated studio times. Your instructor will provide additional details and issue your Student Practice Pass. This bonus time is included in your fee (a $48 value).

Studio Accessibility Note:
Please note: Our pottery studio is located in the basement of our nearly 100-year-old historic building and is currently accessible only by stairs. Unfortunately, there is no elevator access at this time.
