The Grinder
This is a new and veteran player game.
The Grinder is 6 levels! with tweaks to variants and what mechs appear in all the levels.
Grinder uses all standard rules from the Battlemech Manual (no floating crits, no tac-op rules) with the exception of the Grinder K*ll Conditions as listed below (this speeds up the game slightly and mainly helps ensure that everyone's mech is functional enough that they can still have fun)
Grinder K*ll Conditions: Cockpit destroyed, head blown off, pilot killed to pilot wounds, 2 gyro hits, 3 engine hits, 3 limbs destroyed, all internal structure in the CT destroyed, not able to do 5 points of weapon damage, or 2 sensor hits.
All Supplies, Battlemechs, and sheets, are provided
Max 10 players
Game Play
Randomly Picked Mechs: When you join in the Grinder you will roll a die at the first level and that will randomly determine which mech you will use. This continues for 6 Levels each time you roll a die to determine the next mech you will use.
Spawn locations: on the maps there will be tokens. When a new player joins, they roll a die to determine which of the spawn locations on the map their mech will come in on.
Card Initiative: the player’s name will be written on a playing card and then shuffle and deal out cards to determine initiative and firing order.
How to Play
Level 1 Begin with a basic, low-power BattleMech.
Fight: Engage in the standard Battletech combat, moving and firing weapons.
Receive a "K*ll": If your mech destroys another under the Grinder K*ll Conditions, you receive a "K*ll".
Upgrade Your Mech: The destroyed mech's pilot then chooses a new, more powerful BattleMech from the next tier to redeploy.
Repeat: The cycle continues, with players using increasingly powerful and complex mechs as the event progresses.
There will also be additional boards setup for anyone that just wants to play regular Battletech.
Melee games:
2 mechs allowed, max battle value 3000 for both mech combined.
Clan or Innersphere
