While this production of Swan Lake showcases the extraordinary beauty of traditional ballet in its purest form, Jörgen re-imagined it in the picturesque seascape of the Fortress of Louisbourg, Nova Scotia.

The elaborate sets are designed by Camellia Koo, reflecting the beauty of Canada’s national heritage park and giving a dramatic backdrop to Robert Doyle’s 17th century costume designs. Doyle was thrilled to be involved in this unique rendition of Swan Lake having worked on the original restoration project of the Fortress of Louisbourg.

À l’occasion du 25e anniversaire de la compagnie, le directeur artistique et PDG Bengt Jörgen a revisité le classique et dramatique Lac des cygnes, y ajoutant une touche d’héritage canadien, comme c’est souvent le cas dans son œuvre. Si cette production du Lac des cygnes met en valeur l’extraordinaire beauté du ballet traditionnel dans sa forme la plus pure, Jörgen l’a réinventée dans le cadre pittoresque de la forteresse de Louisbourg, en Nouvelle-Écosse.

Les décors somptueux, conçus par Camellia Koo, reflètent la beauté du parc patrimonial national du Canada et offrent une toile de fond spectaculaire aux costumes du XVIIe siècle créés par Robert Doyle. Ce dernier était ravi de participer à cette interprétation unique du Lac des cygnes, ayant lui-même travaillé sur le projet de restauration original de la forteresse de Louisbourg.
