September 6, 9 a.m. to Noon
No Reservations Required, Free
Whether you are an experienced angler or trying fishing for the first time, we invite you to reel in Metroparks memories at this youth fishing event. During this event, anglers will be encouraged to take home what they catch. State limits still apply. Even if you don't keep what you catch, we will be transporting bluegill to other Metroparks ponds in an effort to manage their population.
Please bring a cooler of ice if you plan on taking fish home.
Ages 17 and Under (Ages 16 & 17 will need to have an Ohio Fishing License.)
Location: Cannonball Prairie Metropark near the map kiosk.
Fishing poles and bait available on a first come, first served basis—anglers are welcome to bring their own equipment. Help protect the balance of this ecosystem by taking all of your live bait home and dumping nothing into the water or onto land. This program runs rain or shine, dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear, bring a reusable water bottle filled with water and minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
This is an Open House style program – come anytime during the event.
