# Event Details - **Event Name**: Hands on Day November 2025 - **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 21 Nov, 2025 at 10:00 pm - **Event Description**: Disabled Surfers Association Sydney Event November 2025 https://events.humanitix.com/dsa-sydney-hands-on-day The Sydney branch of the Disabled Surfers Association is holding their Hands on Day on Saturday 22nd November 2025 to provide people of all disabilities with a surfing experience in a fun, friendly and safe environment. Places are limited for participants, so register as soon as ticket are released 27th of October 2025. Once the event is fully booked, no further registrations will be accepted for participants. This is a ticketed event, so all participants (surfers) and carers must pre-register as we will not accept surfer walk-ups on the day. Volunteers are requested to pre-register NOW so we know how many we have (this dictates how many surfers we can accept). Volunteers will always be welcomed and accepted on the day. Please note - at least one carer is required per participant (surfer) who is 100% responsible for their surfer outside of their surf time. We surf rain or shine and we couldn't run our events without your help. Volunteers will be briefed as to what to expect on the day and they will also be teamed up with Red Shirt Team leaders who will help / guide our volunteers in and out of the water. Volunteering consists of helping surfers to and from the beach, assisting them in and out of the water including tandem board riding. We always need help with set up and clean up too so if you could make it to the beach earlier than the start time we'll be setting up from 6am and then cleaning up after the event. Volunteers no experience necessary and you don't need to know how to surf, you just need to be willing to get wet and have some fun! If you surf or have water skills, it's a bonus. A rash shirt will be provided for use on the day and volunteers are encouraged to bring their own wetsuits (we do have some loan wetsuits). We will host a sausage sizzle BBQ at lunch, drinks throughout the day with a presentation at the end of the event.
