Our walk begins at Coed Moel Famau car park CH7 5SH. We will gather outside the toilet facilities in the car park before setting off on our walk.Route DescriptionThis walk begins at Coed Moel Famau car park (see above meeting point information) and climbs steeply but steadily through the forest to Jubilee Tower, which sits at the top of Moel Famau at a height of 554 metres (1,818 feet).Moel Famau ('Mother's Hill') lies on the boundary between Denbighshire and Flintshire and is the highest summit in the Clwydian Range with excellent views across North Wales and towards Northwest England from the summit. Surrounded by several well-preserved Iron Age hill forts the Moel Famau country park been classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty since 1985.After enjoying the views at the summit and a refreshment break, we make our return descending through open countryside, along the Offa’s Dyke Path National Trail, to Bwlch Penbarras and then on to the car park and start point.Trek Therapy are offering this professionally facilitated event as part of our 'Selfcare Sunday' Wellbeing Walks programme made possible through support from the National Lottery Community Fund.This activity will be promoting social interaction, the physical and emotional wellbeing benefits of walking in the outdoors and a therapeutic value of nature connection to anyone who would like to participate.Walk DetailsDistance: 9.5km / Approx. 6 milesTotal Elevation: 400mEstimated Duration: Approximately 4 hoursGrade: Moderate to challenging – due to sections of steep ascent, uneven terrain and the physical effort required for the climb.Practical InformationMeeting Time: 09:45amMeeting Point: Outside the toilets at Moel Famau Car ParkParking: £3.00 for the duration on our walk.Facilities: Toilets and pcinic areaNearby Options Post‑Walk: Cafés, pubs and shops are available at Loggerheads Country Park a short drive awayPlease plan your journey in advance to avoid any travel or parking issues.There will be an initial group briefing and overview facilitated by our 'Trek Therapy' programme leaders.
