Modesto Artists Movement POETRY NIGHT - April 9, 2025

The event is SOLD OUT and we will not be able to take walkups at the door. We truly dislike having to limit our events, but the reality is there is only so much room. We appreciate the enthusiasm for arts events in Modesto and will continue holding more on a regular basis in the future. Our next Poetry Night is April 9. Hope to see you there!

Join the Modesto Artists Movement for a very special "Valentine’s Poetry Night Under the Stars" at the Queen Bean Coffee & Social House!

Firepits, neon lights, kazoos, candy hearts, and live poetry collide for a salacious night of love and laughter. In addition to an open mic poetry night (come early to sign up!), poets get to select their musical accompaniment (i.e. piano, bongos, cello) to create a brilliant fusion of sound and spoken word, elevating each poem into a unique and unforgettable performance.

But wait, there's more!

We will also be featuring our signature Kazoos & Haiku Battle where the audience gets to decide the winner! Theme: LOVE/ANTI-LOVE. (Feel free to share your love in a haiku or perhaps you're feeling jaded. Share that too! We are here to hear it all!)

Back by popular demand:

"Dirty Haiku" returns to this special Valentine's Edition of poetry night. Anonymous attendees may slip their dirtiest haiku into our box and our fearless hosts will share them (*Some restrictions apply. **Not actually. But some content may not be suitable for younger ears. You have been warned! Modesto can be nasty. :) )

Prizes will be awarded to "Best Poem" and "Haiku Champion!"
