Butterflies in our yards and gardens lift our spirits. Who are they, exactly? It’s even more satisfying to recognize different kinds, with their habits and needs, and especially to notice the small ones, little beings easily overlooked. Out in the wilder hills are even more---some especially enticing treats. This well-illustrated presentation includes noting the seasonal appearances of different species along with their caterpillar host plants.

About David Lee Myers: David has photographed butterflies since 1995, now specializing in southern Oregon species and their caterpillar host plants. His book Wings in the Light: Wild Butterflies in North America was published by Yale University Press. He has done exhibitions on old-growth forests and taught years of college photography.
