Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 2, 2026, as the Daniel Boone Family Festival returns with a lively mix of food, fun, music, and rich local history. This beloved annual celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering something for every age — from historical tours and living history demonstrations to artisan vendors, delicious eats, and a free kids’ zone packed with inflatables, face painting, and balloon art.

Walk in the Footsteps of Daniel Boone & Revolutionary War Heroes
Daniel Boone spent nearly 25 years in the Yadkin Valley, and the Davie County Historical and Genealogical Society is sponsoring a tour focused on landmarks associated with the Boone clan.

Tours depart at 10:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 2:15 p.m., offering Boone enthusiasts an immersive journey through local history. Stops include:

Historic Joppa Cemetery, where Daniel’s parents, Squire and Sarah Boone, and his brother Israel are buried (Israel’s grave is the oldest in the cemetery)

The Boone Tract at Bear Creek, a 640-acre parcel of land granted to Squire Boone in 1753 and later sold to his son Daniel

The Daniel Boone Marker in Farmington

Nearby Pudding Ridge, where General Cornwallis crossed Dutchman Creek in pursuit of Nathanael Greene (Cornwallis named the area for the thick mud his troops had to march through)

Additional significant sites across the county

Each tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and offers a deeper understanding of Davie County’s colonial and Revolutionary War roots.

How to Reserve Your Tour:
Spaces for the tours are first come-first-served and you must call or email to reserve your spot since tickets will not be sold onsite this year unless there are unreserved slots available.

To reserve your tour time, email lindaleonard2@gmail.com or call Linda Leonard, president of the Davie County Historical and Genealogical Society, at (336) 909-2370.

Living History Comes to Life at the Carolina Frost Cabin
History won’t just be told — it will be lived. History demonstrations and colonial-era displays will take place at the Carolina Frost Cabin at the corner of S. Main Street and Lexington Road. Built before 1840, the cabin provides the perfect backdrop for costumed interpreters from the North Carolina Daniel Boone Heritage Trail.
Festival guests can experience demonstrations of:

Colonial music
Tomahawk throwing
Open-hearth cooking
Sewing and textiles
Fishing techniques
Other daily frontier activities

It’s an interactive and educational experience that brings the 1700s vividly to life.

Live Music All Day — and Into the Evening

While festival activities conclude at 5 p.m., live entertainment continues until 7 p.m., keeping the energy high into the evening.

Hazy Ridge Bluegrass Band 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Hazy Ridge Bluegrass Band is a local bluegrass band from Clemmons, NC, established in 2014. They are crowd favorites wherever they play, delivering their own heartfelt style of Bluegrass music. They also perform original material, Bluegrass Gospel, and Classic Country with Bluegrass flair. All members of the band share a love of Bluegrass music and love sharing it with their audiences!

Sweet Nuthins’ 1-2 p.m.
Hailing from Mocksville, Sweet Nuthins’ is a bluegrass band rooted in tradition but shaped by a modern sense of feel and flow. Their sound is built on strong musicianship, natural chemistry, and songs that value tone, space, and story just as much as speed.

Soul Creek Revival 3-4:30 p.m.
Soul Creek Revival isn’t your average country music band. “We write to create a 4-5 minute break from the day-to-day for the listener. If you forgot about the bills that were due, if you need a good cry, if you want to hype your friends up, that is where we want our music to exist, in that space where people connect to it and one of our songs becomes attached to a memory, or a routine, and so on,” says the band’s Facebook page.

Pressley Laton 5-7 p.m.
Blurring the lines between country and rock, Pressley Laton is an independent artist based in Boone, NC, whose music is shaped by Appalachian culture, small-town stories, and a lifelong love of outlaw country and rock-and-roll. As an alternative-country and roots-rock artist, Pressley blends bold, soulful vocals with gritty music and unfiltered storytelling to create a hard-hitting sound that’s raw and real, which Terry Hudson of rBeatz Radio described as “Lynyrd Skynyrd meets Jo Dee Messina.”
Food, Artisans & Family Fun All Day Long

Beyond the history and music, festival-goers can browse local artisan vendors, enjoy a wide variety of food options, and let kids burn off energy in the free children’s area filled with inflatables and creative activities.

Whether you’re a history buff, bluegrass lover, foodie, or simply looking for a fun Saturday with family and friends, the 2026 Daniel Boone Family Festival promises a memorable day celebrating the heritage and community spirit of Davie County.
