Har ki dun trek

Located in the middle of the cradle shaped valley below Fateh Parvat Har-ki-Dun Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Western Himalayas. This valley can be reached by trekking through Govind National Park. The park is known for its rich variety of flora and fauna. Har-ki-Dun or “Valley of the Gods” is a U shaped valley with a terrific contrast of alpine meadows along ridges and glacier basins surrounded by towering peaks. Trekkers also have the opportunity to explore the Himalayan wildlife as well.The trails are quite manageable and not high on gradient. The trek promises a good view of the towering 5000 to 6000 meter Himalayan peaks namely Swaragrohini massif Fateh Parvat Kalanag and Bandarpoonch ranges. The village life as seen at Osla Sankri and Taluka is an experience in itself it feels as if the native village tribes of the region have frozen in time. The local villagers of the valley are known as Parwati and claim their descent from the “Pandavas” From temples to caves to scenic villages to rocky mountain peaks to glaciers to the wonderful local architecture this trek promises a mixture of natural beauty and history!
