History is Fun - Make a Haversack
Advertisement
Haversacks were the way many soldiers in the 18th and 19th century carried items such as personal items or a day's ration of food. This month, children will get to make and take home their own haversack. Seamstress Sunshine MacIntyre will be on hand to teach participants basic stitching to sew the bag together.
This program will be limited to a class size of 10 children for ease of teaching for our instructor.
“History is Fun” is a FREE monthly program that engages children ages 5-12 with hands-on crafts, games, and activities to learn about 18th-century life.
