Tickets - $15
Wicked Sycamore is an all-female trio hailing from the Baltimore/DC area, consisting of Juliette Bell on guitar, Lainie Gray on mandolin, and Madeline Waters on cello. Their sound can be described as contemporary folk with a mischievous edge that is grounded in traditional roots music but branches out into Americana, bluegrass, funk, and jazz. They write original music ranging from fun and light-hearted sing-alongs to deep, introspective tunes for the ages. Their music combines intricate vocal harmonies with thoughtful arrangement, mood shifts, and story-telling. They are proud to add their voices as both female musicians and songwriters to the modern music landscape.
For two decades, ilyAIMY (i love you And I Miss You) has played anything and everywhere nationwide - bait shops to biker weeks to clothing-optional resorts! Similarly adventurous songwriters, the band features multiple lead singers, innovative acoustic guitar, and even beatboxing. Rapid-fire lyricism is softened with cello and lush harmonies for "a welcome jolt in folk" as likely to rock out as break into a barbershop quartet. “Imagine, if you will, the rhythm section of Earth Wind and Fire teamed up with the folk sensibilities of Steeleye Span,” says Vance Gilbert. Heather Aubrey Lloyd and Rob Hinkal, ilyAIMY’s core duo, have earned honors from Kerrville NewFolk, Telluride Troubador, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, and more. They are repeat Washington Area Music Association Winners for Best Contemporary Folk Group.
