Ginny Merett Gala Opening and Reception - Carolina Series

This show, Ginny Merett: Pieces of a Dream, celebrates Ms. Merett’s lifelong dream of creating art full time, after a full career teaching and inspiring students. Her work is inspired by a generation of women, like her grandmothers’, whose fashion sense was expressed every day by the chic clothes and high heels they wore, how they embellished their outfits with jewelry and hats, and how they never left home without lipstick. She works intuitively in constructing art by hand cutting/tearing parts and pieces of pictures from magazines and found papers to create new characters. Her goal is to create art that makes the viewer want to take a closer look and present a situation where they are entertained by unique and aesthetically intriguing expressions. Join us for her opening reception. Ticket includes artist talk, appetizers, and an open bar!
