Study Kabbalat Shabbat ~ “Kivun Ha-Lev/Direction the Heart”

The Prayer & Practice Committee is excited to welcome you to our third Study Shabbat: “Kivun Ha-Lev/Direction of the Heart” 🎶 followed by a dessert Oneg potluck. This theme is a “Hokey Pokey of Shabbat” exploring the “motions of our prayer.” Participants will study in small groups, facilitated by a leader with resources and then create their own short presentation about the prayer back with the group. It’s a great way to learn and embody prayer.

This is a new style of Shabbat service experience for a deep dive learning about prayers of the Friday night service, with opportunity for small group writing poetic "kavanot" or "intentions" to direct the hearts in the room. This will be an exciting and empowering evening structured to enhance our community services and spiritual connection!

Attendees will learn about and create intentions to read during the service for: L'cha Dodi, the Amidah and Shabbat songs, presented by Prayer & Practice leaders with Rabbah Riqi.
