Pastel and Mixed Media Workshop at the Maine Art Gallery

Have a box of soft pastels in your studio that you never use or work in another media but want to jazz things up a bit? Bring your curiosity to experiment and your pastels to this hands on workshop, where we’ll be combining soft pastel with acrylic, watercolor, or gouache; or all three. We’ll be experimenting with techniques to create atmospheric and landscape effects, paying attention to how texture can be a tool for composition. Taking inspiration from the work of Joseph Fiore featured in the "Fiore at 100: Maine Observed" exhibition (on view until August 24) will be a highlight of this workshop. Please bring a bag lunch and whatever snacks, and drinks you may need.
