Mission
To create a radically inclusive, boundary-pushing performance space where marginalized voices in comedy and spoken word poetry take centre stage.
Vision: A world where diverse performers are celebrated, accessibility is a given, and audiences experience the transformative power of truth, humour, and storytelling.
Format & Concept
Curated Performances & Open-Mic: A mix of scheduled acts and spo
‘spontaneous audience participation to encourage new voices. Each scheduled Act will have made a silent black and white video about them that will be projected at the back of them when they perform.
Comedy & Spoken Word Fusion: Sharp wit, raw truth, and fearless storytelling take the spotlight.
Safe & Inclusive Space: No hate speech, no discrimination only respect and amplification of marginalized experiences.
Pay-What-You-Can Model: Ensuring that financial barriers don’t prevent access for both performers and audiences.
At the end of the night, the limited-run show will be planned using crip time; the scheduled acts can be asked questions by the audience about why they got into comedy and spoken word about what inspired them.
many comedy venues are not accessibly or inclusive as they should be as a child growing up as I was bullied in my primary school by a teacher who riped my jotter up I had selected mustim
Growing up in the 1980 My love of painting really began when I was selected to attend a two week residential art course at Castle Toward at the age of 15. This was an annual course for 4th and 5th year pupils from Glasgow secondary schools, run by the Education Department of the former Strathclyde Regional Council.
Those who wished to attend this course were asked to submit a portfolio of artwork for consideration. I was very fortunate to be accepted in 1988.
Castle Toward is a 19th century Gothic Revival style mansion at the southern tip of the Cowal peninsula, Argyll and Bute. After the second world war it was bought by Glasgow Corporation and used as an outdoor education facility for art, music and sports. Over the next 60 years, thousands of schoolchildren spent happy summers there, living in the castle and taking part in practical work in their chosen subject. this now closed so what in it place for our creatives
