SINGING WORKSHOP: Traditional Bulgarian folk

In this workshop, led by Vlada Tomova, we will dive into both understanding and practising the unique elements of traditional Bulgarian folk singing.
Together, we’ll explore:

* Tone production specific to Bulgarian folk singing
* Odd rhythms characteristic of Bulgaria’s traditional music
* Melodic ornamentation and stylistic nuances

We'll also take up breath and muscle control, essential for mastering this typical vocal style. As part of the workshop, we’ll learn two traditional songs from different ethnographic regions of Bulgaria.

This workshop is open to singers of all levels. No prior experience with Bulgarian folk music is required. Everyone will learn a lot, no matter the level they are at.

Come ready to explore new ways of creating sound with your voice!
