This summer, Ikon and Birmingham City University (BCU) present a series of free creative sessions, organised in response to Ikon’s current exhibition Thread the Loom.

This event is open to all ages. Children must be accompanied at all times.

Join MA Arts & Education Practices students for workshops that invite visitors to explore materials and techniques from paper weaving, woven collage, natural dyes and pigments, to discovering the students’ Bad Art Institute. These sessions are open to all ages. No need to book, just drop in.

Tuesday 29 July: Introduction to Weaving

Tuesday 5 August: Natural Dyes

Tuesday 12 August: Bad Art Institute

About BCU Tuesdays:

BCU Tuesdays is an innovative new partnership between Ikon and Birmingham City University (BCU) which enables the gallery to open on Tuesdays for a year (October 2024 – September 2025). With BCU Tuesdays, visitors can enjoy an additional day of free entry to Ikon’s exhibitions.
