Life Well Lived

Two seasoned travelers of lives well lived, Ted and Ethel invite you to take a musical journey with them to some highlights along the way and the adventures yet to come.

Ted Grace has been performing at open mics and piano bars in the Boston area for over 30 years. He started singing later in life, at the original Napoleon Club, and has since performed at many Boston venues and events, including BACA, Diamond Jim’s at the Lennox Hotel, Monday’s Lounge and the 1280 Club in Brookline, and the Frank Wilkins Jazz Vocal Showcase. Ted has studied with several jazz vocal coaches, including Donell Patterson, Bob Christopherson, and Dane Vannatter. This is Ted’s first show since his two sold out Josephine’s shows last winter, and he is excited to be sharing more songs and stories with you all this fall.

Music has always played a significant role in Ethel Ryerson’s life, but it wasn’t until after she retired from her “day” job that she indulged her long-held passion for singing cabaret and jazz, and began performing in clubs and at open mics in the Boston area. Finding a warm and receptive audience for her and her music, Ethel has made the Napoleon Room at Club Café her home base.

Ethel Ryerson has studied voice with Rebecca Parris, Dan Moore and Janusz Kowalski. She also has learned traditional jazz repertoire in New Orleans, and has been fortunate to attend master classes with jazz great (and scat master!) Sheila Jordan at the Vermont Jazz Conference.

Ethel has done 5 solo shows with BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret Artists) in Boston. She is excited to be presenting her new show with Ted Grace, “Life Well Lived”, which presents her fourth Josephine’s show at
Club Café.

JOSEPHINE’S in the NAPOLEON ROOM – Boston’s best professionals and tomorrow’s rising stars singing JAZZ, BROADWAY & MADCAP CABARET! Dinner seating starts at 5:00 pm and the one hour show begins at 6:00 pm. RESERVATIONS strongly recommended.
