Dean Harris, aka Coki, raised in Croydon, South London, is one of the most innovative and influential producers in dubstep history.
From blueprint tracks like “Haunted,” “Tortured,” and “Spongebob,” to anthems like “Night” with Benga, his productions have defined and redefined the sound of dubstep time and time again. As one half of Digital Mystikz, alongside longtime friend and collaborator Mala, and a founding member of the DMZ label and collective with Mala and Loefah, Coki's impact on electronic music is both foundational and far reaching.
As Joe Muggs wrote in 2013, “Coki, the quiet man who makes a big noise, has one of the most unusual career trajectories of any producer in electronic music.” Despite inspiring generations of producers, from Skrillex to Skream, Coki remains grounded, forever rooted in the sound system culture that shaped his world.
When Coki drops a tune, the reaction is always the same, rewind.
