STAND Corporation, in collaboration with Columbia Community Care & Racial Justice NOW!, cordially invites you to a special Community Listening Session where we will discuss the urgent need for sustainable youth engagement strategies in Maryland and Howard County.
Our expert panelists,Senator Emerita Jill P. Carter (Maryland State Senator/Civil Rights Attorney), Lawrence Grandpre (Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle), Zakiya Sankara-Jabar (Racial Justice NOW!) and Shelly L. Brown Esquire (Shelly Brown Law), will discuss actionable strategies, specifically legislative initiatives, to uplift and engage our youth in meaningful, life-affirming ways to create a safer, more hopeful future for our young people.
We respectfully ask for your presence as a non-participating guest in this listening session. Your presence would be invaluable as we believe that real change begins with listening — to the voices of those who have endured unimaginable challenges and those who are striving daily to create a safer, more hopeful future for our young people. We will not be taking questions from attendees during the event, but we will follow-up and engage with attendees as appropriate on a later date.
