📅 Sunday, August 24, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

📍 Jablon Studios — 2240 Coleman St., Vestal, NY 13850

ONLY 10 SPOTS AVAILABLE

Bring your creativity — and a small piece of furniture — to this immersive hands-on workshop with local artist John Penird, who specializes in MacKenzie-Childs–inspired décor. You’ll explore a wide range of decorative painting techniques to give your piece a fresh, artistic new look. Whether you love rustic charm or bold, playful patterns, this workshop will teach you how to create a truly unique finish.

🖌️ What You Can Learn:

Distressing: Create vintage, worn finishes with dry brushing or sanding

Marbling: Use brush techniques or plastic wrap for a faux-stone look

Blending & Ombre: Achieve smooth transitions between colors

Pattern Painting: Checkerboards, stripes, dots, and freehand designs

MacKenzie-Childs Style: Whimsical color blocking, florals, brushstroke accents, and layered patterns

Finishing: Use wax, sealants, or top coats to protect and complete your piece

🎨 All decorative paints, brushes, and materials will be provided.

🪑 Please bring a small piece of furniture (chair, side table, drawer, etc.)

⚠️ Your furniture MUST be pre-painted white before the class so we can dive right into design work.

📸 Bringing inspiration pictures is highly encouraged — having reference images will help both you and the instructor plan your design and ensure maximum success!

🥪 Please bring a lunch — we’ll take a short break around midday.

✨ No experience necessary — this is a great workshop for beginners or anyone wanting to learn new techniques.

There are no refunds on this class.
