Playing some of Fred's favourite songs, Simone's original material and Rita's funky tunes, the Turnips blend vocals, instruments and rhythms to create a perfect contemporary sound. So turn up to hear Turnip Sundae - an underground "folk & roots" sensation!
Cassidy Buxton, Rita Woolhouse, and Simone Dawson bring their friendship and rich musicality to life as the Banksi Sisters—a captivating trio weaving harmony vocals with cello, bouzouki, mandolin, and flute. Their sound draws from Celtic, folk, and old-time traditions, blending the heartfelt with the contemporary. Inspired by the Banksie ideal of “create, perform, release,” the trio has charmed audiences at The Bunker, The Hive, The Irish Club, and festivals including St Albans, Bundanoon, and Numeralla. They were honoured to support folk legend Andy Irvine in Canberra, and continue to craft performances that are as thoughtful as they are joyous.
