Dr. Bell, a distinguished lecturer in philosophy, literature, and history at Campion College, holds a BA (Hons) and MPhil from the University of Sydney, and a PhD from the University of Chicago. His extensive academic background and research make him well-equipped to explore this captivating topic.

History Week 2025, themed β€œWater Stories,” invites us to reflect on how bodies of water have shaped communities, cultures, and histories. This lecture offers a unique opportunity to engage with these narratives and understand their relevance to contemporary political culture. Attendees will also enjoy light refreshments during the event.

Please RSVP by 5pm, Monday 8 September.

This lecture is run through Campion College's Centre for the Study of the Western Tradition. The Centre for the Study of the Western Tradition seeks to encourage critical reflection and research on the history, literature, languages, philosophy and theology that characterise Western civilisation and culture, in order to raise the profile of these vital disciplines in Australian tertiary education.
