Tenzin Gawa (Jason Simard), Buddhist monk visiting from the Paramita Centre of Toronto, will lead a one-day urban retreat on Calm-Abiding (samatha) meditation in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of HH the Dalai Lama. Whether you are a beginner, want to hear the teachings again, or wish to learn a new method, this is a very special opportunity to learn from a senior teacher in a genuine Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

The day will consist of 4 sessions of teaching and practice, approximately 75 minutes each, with a break for lunch. We will have snacks and drinks available, and you can bring your lunch or a dish to share. The teachings are based on the 9 stages of Calm Abiding, and full of practical teachings that are steeped in Buddhist philosophy.

Visit http://www.buddhismsoutheast.org for more information and registration. Co-sponsored by the Paramita Center Southeast of Chattanooga and the Paramita Centre of Toronto.
